This 1971 Punjabi drama, directed by Omi Bedi, follows Chaudhary, a man who pretends to be a criminal to protect his friend's daughter's marriage, resulting in his imprisonment and his family being cast out by suspicious villagers. His son Madan grows up in the village without knowing his father, earning the community's affection, and later sets out with his friend Banta Singh to challenge a corrupt local moneylender named Ramu Shah.
