India Masala is a guide to where Indian films are streaming. You do not need an account to use it, and we do not ask who you are.
What we store
Your country
A cookie recording which country’s streaming availability to show you. We guess it from your connection when you first arrive, and it changes only if you pick a different country yourself. It holds a two-letter country code and nothing else.
Your email address, only if you give it to us
If you subscribe to the newsletter we store the address, the date you confirmed it, and the country cookie at the time. We send a confirmation email first, and you are not subscribed unless you click it. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe.
Questions you ask the assistant
Questions put to Rasa are processed by third-party services in order to produce an answer, including a web search when our own catalogue does not hold one. We do not attach questions to you, and conversations are not retained after your session ends.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your email address. We do not have user accounts, profiles, or logins for visitors. We do not track you across other websites ourselves, and we do not publish reviews, ratings, or comments attributed to people who did not write them.
Advertising
This site shows advertising supplied by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through Google’s Ads Settings. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google presents its own consent message before any advertising cookie is set, and you can decline or change your answer there. If you are in the United States, Google presents a privacy message covering the choices available under state privacy laws, including opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information for personalised advertising. In either case your answer is remembered and can be changed from the same message. Declining changes nothing else about the site — nothing about finding films depends on advertising. Google’s own handling of that data is described in its partner sites policy.
Where the data lives
The site and its database are operated using third-party hosting providers, and the data is stored and processed in the United States. If you are reading this from elsewhere, that means your information is transferred outside your own country. Standard server logs, which include IP addresses, are kept for a short period as part of running the service.
Removing your data
Unsubscribing from the newsletter stops all email immediately. We keep the address afterwards on a suppression list — deliberately, because it is the only way to guarantee we never email you again if the address is later re-entered. If you would rather it were deleted outright, write to privacy@indiamasala.com and we will remove it. Clearing your browser cookies removes the country preference.
Where the film data comes from
Catalogue information is drawn from generally available public databases and data sources, and availability from the streaming services themselves. Where a service states the audio language we record that as confirmed; where we infer it, we say so on the page. Individual film pages link to the sources they draw on. We would rather tell you nothing than tell you something we made up.
