The Academy of Fine Arts

This Bengali-language black comedy crime thriller centers on a crew of small-time criminals who steal a rare antique liquor bottle, only to realize they were paid a tiny fraction of its true worth. Their anger and greed set off a chain of double-crosses and violent confrontations, drawing in a mafia boss's operatives and a mysterious figure offering a lucrative, unexplained job. Marked by a self-aware, pulpy tone, the film has drawn comparisons to Tarantino-style crime storytelling as its ensemble of criminals is pulled into a spiraling, dangerous power struggle.
