Set among a British Indian Sikh family in Hounslow, London, this comedy-drama follows teenager Jess Bhamra, who loves football despite her parents' disapproval, as they focus on more traditional expectations and her older sister's upcoming wedding. When local player Jules Paxton spots her talent and invites her to join a women's amateur team coached by a former player named Joe, Jess must secretly balance her hidden passion for the sport with her family's expectations.
