This Kannada-language family drama centers on Shankar, an elder brother who sets aside his own desires and stays unmarried so he can raise and educate his three younger siblings. The story shifts when a young woman becomes romantically interested in him, complicating his self-imposed sacrifice. The 2000 release, directed by R. Sheshadri and Radha Bharathi and led by Vishnuvardhan, Shashikumar, Abhijith and Prema, is a remake of the same-year Tamil film Vaanathaippola.
