Appu is a 2002 Kannada romantic action film about a easygoing young man, son of a police head constable, who falls for Suchi, a girl who helps him after he is attacked by a rival gang. Their romance faces resistance from Suchi's father, a city police commissioner, leading to a series of confrontations and complications as Appu tries to win acceptance for their relationship. The film marked the acting debut of Puneeth Rajkumar and Rakshita and was directed by Puri Jagannadh.
