The Fall

Set in 1920s Los Angeles, this Tarsem Singh-directed adventure fantasy follows an injured stuntman recovering in a hospital who befriends a young girl also being treated there. To pass the time, he spins an elaborate adventure story for her about a band of wronged heroes pursuing a tyrannical governor, and as he narrates, her imagination populates the tale with people from their own lives, blurring the line between the fantasy and their real hospital world. Beneath the storytelling lies a more personal motive tied to the stuntman's own despair, which gradually surfaces as the two grow closer.
