Set in 1943 against the backdrop of World War II and India's independence struggle, this Hindi-language drama follows Julia, a popular stage and film performer, who is sent to entertain troops near the Indo-Burma border. There she becomes entangled with a soldier named Malik amid conflicts involving the British Indian Army, the Japanese, and the Indian National Army, while her relationship with her producer and lover Billimoria grows strained. The story weaves romance, colonial politics, and wartime intrigue centered on a coveted jewel-encrusted sword sought by the INA for funding its cause.
