Rangoon

Set in 1943 against the backdrop of World War II and India's independence struggle, this Hindi-language drama follows Julia, a popular stage and film performer, who is sent to entertain troops near the Indo-Burma border. There she becomes entangled with a soldier named Malik amid conflicts involving the British Indian Army, the Japanese, and the Indian National Army, while her relationship with her producer and lover Billimoria grows strained.
