Azaad

Set in colonial-era India, the story follows Govind, a servant subjected to the cruelty of a powerful landlord, Rai Bahadur, and his family. After a rebel leader is fatally betrayed, Govind is left in charge of a prized horse named Azaad, and through this bond he grows closer to the landlord's daughter, Janaki, despite their differing social standings. Their relationship deepens further as outside forces, including a British official's son, try to seize the horse, pushing Govind toward a high-stakes horse race that could determine his community's fate.
