Two jobless friends with opposing views on how to get ahead—one insisting on honest work, the other favoring shortcuts—end up kidnapping a wealthy neighbor for ransom to solve their money troubles. The scheme unravels in unexpected directions when the woman's husband, who has his own reasons for wanting her gone, gets drawn into the plot, alongside a comic subplot involving a small-time rowdy chasing dreams of film stardom. This Telugu comedy thriller, made on a modest budget, went on to become a notable commercial hit and spawned sequels and a remake.
