Ashta Chamma

This 2008 Telugu romantic comedy, loosely based on Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest, follows a young woman fixated on marrying a man named Mahesh after her devotion to a film star fades into obsession with that name. Her neighbour helps arrange a match, but the mystery man she falls for turns out to be living under a false identity, setting off a tangled web of mistaken names, family misunderstandings, and unexpected romantic entanglements between two households. The story weaves together the lives of a few eccentric characters as their secrets and deceptions gradually come to light.
