A man infiltrates his estranged uncle's household by impersonating a deceased relative in order to help resolve a family conflict. He sets his sights on the uncle's eldest daughter, who refuses to marry and is blocking her sisters' prospects, leading to a deceptive courtship that eventually transforms into genuine affection as the truth emerges.
