Set in a Punjab village in Pakistan in 1979, this drama follows a widow and her teenage son as growing religious zealotry and political upheaval under a new military regime begin to reshape their community. As the son is drawn into an increasingly militant Islamist movement and grows distant from his mother, a visit by Sikh pilgrims returning to sites they fled during the 1947 partition stirs up long-buried secrets about the widow's own past. The film explores how personal histories and communal identity collide amid the era's rising religious and political tensions.
