This 1974 Kannada drama, directed by Siddalingaiah and adapted from a Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar short story, follows a village landlord's son, Ayyu, who inherits his late father's harsh methods of dealing with indebted villagers. His confrontations with a defiant villager named Gulla escalate into a bitter feud after a legal dispute leads to tragedy in Gulla's family, setting the two men and their households on a collision course.
