Bangaarada Manushya

Set in rural Karnataka, the story follows Rajiva, a man who steps in to support his widowed sister's family after her husband's sudden death, taking on debts and reclaiming disputed farmland to rebuild their fortunes. As he works to turn barren land into a profitable venture and helps arrange marriages for his nephews and their friends, he also maintains a secret connection to a woman and her son in another town, while pursuing his own romance with a neighbor's daughter. The 1972 Kannada drama, adapted from a novel by T. K. Rama Rao, became one of the era's biggest box-office successes and is remembered as a landmark in Kannada cinema.
