Set in Punjab before the 1947 partition, this Punjabi-language romantic drama follows a young farmer named Angrej and his growing affection for a village woman, Maado, whose family looks down on his modest means. As a wealthy landlord from Lahore begins courting Maado with gifts, and Angrej crosses paths with another woman, Dhann Kaur, at a family wedding, his feelings and loyalties are tested. The film frames these events as a memory recounted by an elderly Angrej revisiting his old home years later.
