Set in a village near Pollachi, this 1993 Tamil drama follows Kanthavel Vanavarayan, a respected local strongman who lives with his grandparents and guides villagers to pool election money for community amenities instead of voting for candidates. His rivalry with a fellow chieftain, Vallavaraayan, deepens after Vanavarayan marries Vaitheswari, a woman Vallavaraayan also wanted, setting off a chain of schemes and personal tragedies involving marriage, betrayal, and honor within the village. The story centers on themes of loyalty, revenge, and leadership as the two men's feud escalates.
