This 1992 Hindi romantic drama, a directorial debut adapted from the Telugu film Geethanjali, follows Vicky, a recent college graduate whose life is upended after an accident reveals he has a terminal illness. Seeking calm, he retreats to the hill town of Ooty, where he befriends and falls for Naina, a spirited, mischievous young woman who is also gravely ill. Their bond deepens even as a revelation involving Vicky's mother threatens to reshape Naina's remaining time.
