A man washed ashore in Goa with no memory of his past is nursed back to health by a young woman and her aunt, and gradually pieces together fragments of his former life through unexplained combat instincts and scattered clues in Chennai. His search leads him into a dangerous web involving hidden bank accounts, hired attackers, and a musician couple who become allies, eventually revealing that he was once an undercover police officer assigned to track down a dangerous contract killer. Loosely inspired by Robert Ludlum's 'The Bourne Identity', the 1989 Tamil film pairs Kamal Haasan and Prabhu for the first time on screen.
