A young Pakistani lawyer takes on the case of a long-silent Indian prisoner, who finally reveals his story after two decades in custody. He recalls his years as an Indian Air Force pilot and his growing bond with a Pakistani woman he rescued and brought to his family's village, even though she was already engaged to another man back home. The film follows their unfolding romance across the India-Pakistan divide and the choices it forces upon them.
