This 1994 Tamil comedy-drama, directed by V. Sekhar, follows Sivaraman, a modest government clerk, and his wife Lakshmi, who live a middle-class life with their two children. When a flashy, corrupt politician settles in their neighborhood, Lakshmi becomes drawn to his extravagant lifestyle and starts buying costly goods on credit, straining the family's finances and pushing Sivaraman into desperate measures to keep up. The film stars Nassar and Radhika, with support from Jaishankar, Goundamani, Senthil, Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala, and Vinu Chakravarthy.
