This Tamil drama follows five people from very different backgrounds in Chennai—a cable operator hiding his poverty from his girlfriend, an aspiring musician traveling by road with his bandmates, a sex worker fleeing danger with her sister, a Muslim man caught in suspicion after losing his unborn children in a riot, and a mother desperate to save her kidnapped son—whose separate struggles converge at a city hospital on New Year's Eve. As their paths intersect, personal crises of love, debt, prejudice, and survival collide with a looming threat at the hospital. The film is a remake of the director's own earlier Telugu work.
