This 2015 Tamil comedy-drama centers on a famous actor who, after learning he has terminal brain cancer, decides to reconcile with his estranged director-mentor and make one final film with him rather than continue working with his father-in-law's production house. As he juggles his declining health with strained family relationships, including issues with his son and a daughter born from a past relationship, the story-within-a-story follows a folk hero who repeatedly cheats death while helping protect a kingdom from a tyrannical king.
