Directed by Upendra — Raveena Tandon · Prema

This Kannada psychological drama, written and directed by Upendra, uses a folk storytelling frame in which the sage Betala narrates a tale to King Vikramaditya about a self-centered, brutally honest man called Naanu and his entangled relationships with three very different women. The story is built as an allegory, with each woman symbolizing a distinct human drive or need, exploring themes of ego, desire, and materialism as Naanu juggles deception and obsession across the relationships. The film blends romance, crime, and philosophical reflection rather than following a straightforward realistic plot.
