Directed by R. Sundarrajan — Sathyaraj

This 1992 Tamil drama, directed by R. Sundarrajan and starring Sathyaraj and Sukanya, follows an uneducated man who sets his heart on marrying a schoolteacher. After winning over a young teacher named Hamsaveni and marrying her, he asks her to give up her hometown, her father, and her current job to move with him, later revealing that his request is tied to a painful family history involving a violent local strongman who once terrorized his village and targeted anyone who tried to bring education there. The story follows the couple as they confront this past together.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
