The Kite Runner

This drama follows Amir, a privileged boy in 1970s Kabul, and his close bond with Hassan, the son of his family's servant, a friendship complicated by class and ethnic differences. After witnessing an act of violence against Hassan and failing to intervene, Amir is consumed by guilt that shapes his choices as his family flees the Soviet invasion and rebuilds a new life in the United States. Years later, a call from an old family friend in Pakistan draws Amir back toward unresolved events from his childhood.
