A mysterious police officer visits a wealthy family to investigate a woman's suicide, revealing that all of them had connections to the deceased and may have wronged her. As each family member recounts their encounters with the woman, the true nature of the visitor and the circumstances surrounding the death become increasingly unclear. The film is an adaptation of the English play An Inspector Calls.
