Hindi · 1963 · 145 min · biography

Directed by M. Sadiq — Rahman · Bina Rai · Pradeep Kumar · Veena

Set in Mughal India, this drama follows Prince Khurram and Arjumand Banu, whose romance draws the jealous opposition of the emperor's wife, Noor Jehan, who wants him to instead wed her own daughter. She repeatedly schemes against the couple through confinement, exile, and an assassination plot, even as Khurram rises to become Shah Jehan, with tensions escalating further when the ailing emperor's failing health lets her seize power. The story is framed as the origin of the Taj Mahal's construction.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
