Srivariki Premalekha

This 1984 Telugu romantic comedy, directed by Jandhyala and based on a Potturi Vijayalakshmi novel, follows a playful young woman named Swarna who writes an anonymous love letter on a dare, only for it to end up in the hands of a bachelor named Ananda Rao after a mix-up over names and addresses. Determined to find the mystery writer, Ananda Rao searches everywhere while facing pressure from his short-tempered father to settle into an arranged marriage, and his search leads to mistaken identities, misplaced affections, and unexpected complications involving other characters connected to the letter. The tangled situation eventually brings Swarna and Ananda Rao together as neighbors, setting off a chain of comic misunderstandings about who truly wrote the letter and who she really loves.
