Sooryavansham

Set in a rural Indian household, this drama follows an unlettered younger son who is treated as a servant by his respected but unforgiving father while his mother and a loyal family aide remain his only support. After a misunderstanding deepens the rift with his father, he marries a woman against the family's wishes and leaves home, working his way up from a laborer to a successful businessman while his wife pursues a career of her own. Amitabh Bachchan plays a dual role in this remake of a 1997 Tamil film.
