This 1978 Telugu mythological film adapts the Ramayana, following Prince Rama's exile from his kingdom, his battle to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana, and his eventual return to claim his throne. The narrative spans Rama's fourteen years in the forest, his alliances with various characters including the monkey-faced Anjineeya, and the climactic war against Ravana and his demon forces in Lanka.
