This Bengali surrealist courtroom drama centers on a West Bengal High Court judge whose birthday gathering with an eclectic mix of relatives and friends gives way to a strange dream. In that dream, his guests are transformed into twelve jurors forced to weigh in on a murder case involving a young man accused of stabbing an elderly victim, with one juror pushing back against an apparently open-and-shut guilty verdict. The film is a Bengali adaptation of the same story previously told in the Hindi film Ek Ruka Hua Faisla and, before that, in the American classic 12 Angry Men.
