Shool is a 1999 Hindi crime drama set in Bihar, following a newly transferred police officer named Samar Pratap Singh who tries to uphold the law in a district controlled by a corrupt, violent politician, Bachhu Yadav. As Singh refuses to bow to local pressure and the collusion between officials and criminals, he repeatedly clashes with his superiors and Yadav's network, exposing how deeply politics and crime are intertwined in the region.
