Shikara

Set against the 1990 displacement of Kashmiri Hindus from the Kashmir Valley, this Hindi drama follows Shiv, a young professor and poet, and Shanti, a nurse, whose romance and marriage unfold amid growing communal tension. As militancy rises and their close-knit community of Hindu and Muslim neighbors fractures, the couple's bond is tested by escalating violence that eventually forces their family to flee their home. Decades later, an older Shiv continues to write to political leaders seeking recognition for the plight of displaced Kashmiri Pandits like himself.
