This 2012 Malayalam neo-noir crime thriller, marking directorial debutant Srinath Rajendran's first feature, follows Harilal, a young man from a modest background who moves through the world of Kerala's illegal sand trade and loan-recovery gangs before becoming entangled with rival smuggling networks. Told partly through his recollection to a stranger one rainy night, the story traces his shifting alliances, a violent feud sparked by an old act of revenge, and a budding romance with a nurse he once wronged. The film also introduced lead actors Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Wayne, and Gauthami Nair in their screen debuts.
