Sardar

Hindi · 1993 · 175 min · biography

Directed by Ketan Mehta

This Hindi-language biographical drama traces the political journey of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, from a skeptical young man who initially mocks Mahatma Gandhi's methods to becoming one of his committed followers after hearing him speak. It follows Patel's role in leading grassroots protest movements in Gujarat, his influence within the Indian National Congress during the tense lead-up to independence and partition, and his subsequent efforts to unify various princely states, including Kashmir, Junagadh, and Hyderabad, into a single nation while navigating his complicated working relationship with Nehru.

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
