Saaya is a 2003 Hindi supernatural romantic thriller about a doctor, Akash, whose pregnant wife Maya dies in a bus accident while volunteering during a malaria outbreak near the Burmese border. Unable to accept her death, Akash begins experiencing unexplained phenomena that convince him Maya's spirit is trying to reach out to him, and with the help of a nun and various clues, he sets out to uncover the truth behind her disappearance. The film follows his journey back to the accident site as he searches for answers about what really happened to her.
