This 1991 Kannada drama follows Nandini, a girl sheltered and overprotected by her three older brothers after a prediction that she would choose her own husband against their wishes. As she grows up confined to her home, her only real connection to the outside world becomes Ramachari, a simple-hearted, uneducated singer hired as her bodyguard, and the two slowly develop a bond that neither fully understands as marriage. Directed by D. Rajendra Babu with music by Hamsalekha, the film was a commercially successful remake of a Tamil original.
