Set in a Telangana village under feudal landlords during the early 1950s Nizam era, the story follows a young girl named Mallamma who is raised by her grandfather and possesses an unusual talent for singing, which draws the wrath of the village's tyrannical female landowner. As secrets emerge about Mallamma's true parentage and her connection to a revered, secretly buried rebel leader, tragedy forces her to flee the village and undertake a journey to Delhi in hopes of pleading her village's cause directly to Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The film blends her personal struggle with the broader backdrop of the Razakar movement and rural resistance against oppressive rule.
