In 1950s Calcutta, a struggling Urdu poet named Vijay finds his socially conscious writing rejected by publishers and mocked by his own family, leaving him adrift and disillusioned. As Vijay's personal and professional fortunes take unexpected turns, the story examines art, love, and social hypocrisy in mid-century India.
