A village youth named Sunder moves to the city, where his lack of sophistication makes him an easy target for teasing from his flatmates and the women he tries to court. He meets an NRI woman, Payal Khurana, who wrongly assumes he cannot speak and has a disability, and out of compassion she takes him to a doctor to try to restore his voice, while he chooses to let her believe this rather than reveal the truth. As Payal's concern deepens into affection, she begins introducing him to her relatives and parents, unaware of his secret.
