Pudhupettai is a 2006 Tamil crime drama directed by Selvaraghavan, centered on a young man from the Pudhupettai slums who, after tragedy destroys his family, flees into a life of poverty and crime. He is drawn into the underworld of North Chennai gang politics, rising from a low-level errand runner to a feared crime boss through a series of violent confrontations and betrayals. Along the way his personal relationships, including with a woman he loves and his own estranged family, become entangled with his growing power and the enemies it creates.
