Set in colonial-era Madras Presidency, this Tamil period drama follows Raasa, a jobless young villager who falls in love with a woman named Angamma before leaving to find work. He and other villagers are lured by a plantation overseer's false promises of good pay and housing, only to find themselves trapped in exploitative bonded labor at a British-run tea estate. The story follows his struggle to survive the harsh conditions and abusive control of the plantation's overseers while separated from his family back home.
