Omkara

Set in Meerut, this Hindi-language crime drama follows Omkara Shukla, a political strongman working for a powerful local boss, as he elopes with Dolly Mishra despite her family's fury and helps consolidate his patron's power through intimidation and scandal. When Omkara chooses his educated ally Kesu over his devoted lieutenant Langda to lead the gang, the spurned Langda plots a scheme of manipulation and planted evidence to convince Omkara that Dolly and Kesu are betraying him, setting off a spiral of suspicion and violence. The film is an adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello and forms part of a trilogy of the director's Shakespeare-based films.
