Set in a rural Kerala village, the story follows the caretaker of a fading temple who serves as its ritual oracle while his family struggles to get by on the shrine's dwindling income. His unemployed son grows disillusioned with the temple and its goddess, while his daughter, who assists in the rituals, is drawn into a relationship with a visiting priest who eventually abandons the village. As hardship deepens and a disease outbreak strikes the community, the villagers scramble to revive faith and funding for the temple's festival.
