This 2003 Bengali comedy-drama follows Shashi, a struggling racecourse bookie, and his estranged wife Sulochona, who have lived apart for years despite never divorcing. When Sulochona falls ill, her daughter Manisha and Shashi arrange for Rabi, a mechanic, to pose as Sulochona's old love interest Durgadas to ease her stress, setting off a chain of romantic and comic complications. Adapted from a novel by Samaresh Basu, the film centers on the tangled relationships between these four characters.
