This 1997 Kannada drama, directed by T. S. Nagabharana and based on Girish Karnad's stage play rooted in a regional folk legend, follows a young bride named Rani who is neglected by her indifferent husband Appanna. When a love potion meant for him instead reaches a cobra living nearby, the creature begins visiting her at night disguised as her husband, drawing her into an unexpected romance that soon raises suspicion. The story blends folklore and domestic drama to explore themes of desire, deception, and marital isolation.
