This 1967 Hindi drama, a remake of director Adurthi Subba Rao's earlier Telugu hit, follows newlyweds who, during a strange episode on their honeymoon, are led to recall a previous life. An old woman they encounter recounts that earlier existence: a poor boatman and a wealthy landowner's daughter who form a deep bond despite their unequal social standing, complicated by another suitor, a jealous shepherd girl, and family pressures that force the two apart. The story unfolds as a tale of remembered love and social barriers, with the past life's events shaping the fate of the reincarnated couple.
