This 1967 Hindi drama follows Shanti Swarup, a prosperous businessman whose large household includes his sons, daughters, and an adopted orphan named Kanhaiya, who remains deeply loyal to the family that raised him. When Shanti's fortunes collapse, tensions rise as some family members turn away from him while others, including Kanhaiya, face hardship while trying to stay devoted to the household's wellbeing.
