This 1975 Kannada historical drama follows Mayura, a young Brahmin man skilled in combat, who learns he is actually the son of a slain Kadamba king and sets out to reclaim his royal legacy from the ruling Pallava dynasty. As he builds his own following and expands his influence across the region, his path repeatedly crosses with a hostile Pallava prince, while also forming complicated bonds with other members of the Pallava royal family. Adapted from a novel, the film was shot partly within Mysore Palace and became a landmark work for its lead actor.
